Job Description
Graduate Assistant Position
Primary Responsibilities
Sport Programs Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation, and development of approximately 30 student employees
  • Assist in developing, coordinating, and evaluating a comprehensive Competitive Sports program to include team, dual, and individual sports leagues, tournaments, special events, and 15 Sport Clubs.
  • Serve as Facility Manager of Campus Recreation Center
  • Provide onsite supervision for Intramural activities, especially major team sports (Basketball, Flag Football, and Soccer)
  • Manage IMLeagues web-based scheduling and participant registration for Intramural Sports
  • Assist with developing and implementing a marketing plan for Sport Programs
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of the Sport Club Officer Training program
  • Assist with management of reservations at Outdoor Field Complex
  • Assist with student payroll for Sport Programs accurately and within established timelines on departmental financial logs
  • Maintain program equipment and accurately track inventory
  • Update Sport Programs policies, procedures, and rules
  • Prepare Captain's Meeting content
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with Intramural Sports Greek Chairs, team captains, and participants
  • Adhere to appropriate risk management plans and Campus Recreation Emergency Action Plans
  • Enforce policies and procedures relating to Competitive Sports programs
  • Facilitate payment process for intramural programming
  • Assist with CPR training for all Campus Recreation Staff. In consultation with other staff members, establish an annual calendar of classes to meet departmental needs
Qualifications
Sport Programs Requirements:
  • Preferred experience working in collegiate recreation
  • Preferred experience in officiating and officials training
