We are seeking a Media Monitoring Specialist to support the Navy Chief of Information (CHINFO). CHINFO leads Navy-wide Public Affairs strategy, execution, and assessment. Their mission is focused on communication planning, digital media analysis and assessment, and SharePoint administration.

This role requires on-site support at CHINFO Headquarters (Washington, DC), Monday-Friday during core business hours. Due to sensitivity of information, remote office is not an option for this role. Also, an Active Secret clearance is required.

Position Description:

The role encompasses your ability to:

  • Monitor and assess the significance of media coverage and conversations, online and on social media platforms, to provide awareness, context, and recommended actions;
  • Maintain a consistent picture of relevant news coverage and conversations in order to quickly distill the relative importance of coverage and identify important trends that can impact Navy reputation and ongoing communication efforts; and
  • Perform as an individual and/or part of a team in the execution of Research and Assessment tasks in social media groups.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of experience in communications
  • 4+ years of experience in news media relations
  • Strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and have proven writing skills.
  • Ability to work on a team dedicated to achieving excellence for the government client.
  • Self-starter with proven and documented success in completing objectives under challenging conditions.
  • Ability to daily commute to the government HQ Monday-Friday.
