Job Description

Role purpose
  • Responsible for managing a Co-Formulant portfolio (surfactants, solvents, adjuvants…) of $50+ million including regional account management
  • To ensure security and quality supply of Co-Formulants at a competitive price for Syngenta
  • To lead or be a key member of multi-functional teams (Formulation Development, Regulatory, Planning, and Supply Chains) involved in the review of existing Co-Formulants and introduction of new Co-Formulants
  • Ensures achievement of regional and global Year-on-Year savings & PPV targets
  • To extract benefit from the supply relationships with suppliers
  • To identify, select and negotiate commercial terms for purchasing an assigned portfolio of raw materials
  • Ensures company procedures and guidelines are followed and good business practices are maintained
  • Maintains relevant industry and market place knowledge to ensure competitive advantage
  • Develops and maintains internal client and external supplier relationships
Accountabilities
  • Resolution of blocked invoices and credit issues
  • Support procurement managers to coordinate and resolve non-conformances
  • Support procurement team by monitoring contract expiration dates
  • Maintain central Purchasing and pricing files via SharePoint
  • Perform P-Card monthly audit.  Maintenance of P-Card files and program and training
  • Creation of charts, spreadsheets, documents
  • Assist with SAP Purchasing training
  • Enter Outline Agreements into SAP
  • Coach other purchasing team members, develop and maintain supplier relationships, create and maintain SAP reports, provide support for Purchasing Managers
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant Purchasing and company wide systems
  • Establish working relationships with key internal group/departments
  • Develop and manage relationships as appropriate with tail spend suppliers including forecasting and pricing negotiations
  • Identify and communicate best practices and develop benchmarks that compare internal purchasing performance to industry best practice
  • Develop, maintain and monitor common, efficient and ethical purchasing processes
  • Ensure maximum use and benefit of available Procurement tools
  • Supports Procurement department with systems: SAP, Sievo, PCM, Argus, Risk Connect
This position is hybird and located in Greensboro, NC. 


Qualifications
 
  • Knowledge of SAP and relevant systems, awareness of Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
  • Purchasing experience desirable
  • Basic understanding of purchasing, accounting and manufacturing Knowledge of the Co-Formulant supply markets (e.g. surfactants, solvents etc.)
  • Understanding of procurement best practices
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain operations
  • Very good capabilities in the use of procurement processes/tools (SAP)
  • Chemistry background preferred
