Primary Responsibilities | To lead a department of 28 full-time faculty members and 26 part-time instructors. A dynamic program featuring award-winning teachers who publish actively in a wide variety of fields, we offer undergraduate and master's degrees in English in areas including literary studies, creative writing, professional writing, rhetoric and composition, and secondary education. We serve approximately 131 majors, 75 minors, and 33 graduate students at a public comprehensive university of 11,000 students. |
Qualifications | Required qualifications include: * PhD or MFA in English or related field * Success in teaching, a record of scholarly and/or creative accomplishment, and commitment to service * Experience in academic administration sufficient for running a large department with multiple disciplines and programs * Familiarity with the needs of English undergraduate and graduate programs * Capacity to advocate for the department at the college and university levels * Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness * Commitment to collegiality * Commitment to community engagement To apply submit: Curriculum vitae, cover letter/letter of application, diversity statement, and name and contact information of three references.
