The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Clinical Marketing Manager for our Labs (Chemistry & Immunodiagnostics) business who will be responsible for positioning Quidel-Ortho as a scientific leader by curating and disseminating scientific and educational content that demonstrates the superiority of our products for internal and customer consumption.

The individual will develop and implement marketing strategies focused on the clinical or scientific differentiation of leading assays specifically, and for significant groups of products collectively.

They will be responsible for prioritizing, proposing, and managing the annual budget for studies to expand the clinical or scientific evidence base for products, and for working with the Medical & Clinical Affairs team to structure and execute studies.

They will be responsible for amplifying scientific studies pertinent to key assays through multiple channels, including webinars, trade publications, and scientific meetings. They'll also be responsible for the presentation and dissemination of relevant evidence through our web presence.

As a key member of the Labs Strategic Business Unit team responsible for global marketing of the Ortho's Chemistry and Immunodiagnostic assays, they will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Medical & Clinical Affairs, Marketing Communications, R&D scientists, and external partners to identify, prioritize, and execute projects.

This role can be located in Raritan, NJ, Rochester, NY, or remote.

The Responsibilities
  • Lead scientific evidence strategy: Assess competitive landscape, current product evidence, and product strengths/weaknesses to identify gaps and opportunities with respect to scientific evidence. Define multi-year clinical/scientific evidence strategies for key disease states and product groups. Prioritize evidence generation efforts throughout the business unit, in partnership with product managers and Medical & Clinical Affairs. Manage evidence budget and allocate funding.

  • Lead portfolio-level marketing projects to differentiate significant sections of our product line from a scientific and/or clinical perspective.

  • Partner with product managers to develop customer segmentation, product positioning and messaging that differentiate selected key products from a scientific and/or clinical perspective

  • Define annual strategy and manage master schedule for engagement in scientific meetings to maximize exposure and evidence sharing. Secure content for meetings including speaker presentations, workshops, and posters.

  • Recruit and partner with KOLs to develop and deliver product educational content in formats such as symposia presentations, webinars, posters, and other venues.

  • Expand and curate the Learning pages of our web presence. Digitally curate the scientific evidence and education for internal use by the regional Marketing teams.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual
  • Bachelor's degree required. Scientific focus preferred.

  • PhD, MSc, or MBA preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of experience in medical devices.

  • 3+ years' minimum total marketing + sales (or comparable customer facing and/or sales force interactions) experience.

  • Demonstrated experience translating scientific evidence into compelling messaging and customer-facing content.

  • Scientific Affairs or Product Management in life sciences experience preferred.

  • Sales experience preferred

  • In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated success delivering results in complex projects.

  • Excellent cross-functional project management and communication skills. Ability to drive ideas from concept to completion through superior organizational, project management and team leadership skills.

  • Proven ability to drive prioritization of appropriate activities within competing priorities.

  • Must have the flexibility to travel (International and US Domestic) per business needs.

  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to be a team player to solve problems and incorporate input from various sources.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills.

  • Must have the flexibility to travel up to 25% (International and US Domestic) per business needs.

Key Working Relationships
  • Internal:

    • Product Managers - Understand products and evidence needs. Collaborate on strategy and priorities.

    • Medical & Clinical Affairs - As MCA will execute post-market studies, define priorities and budget for MCA to execute.

    • Marketing Communications - Collaborate on creation and curation of content

    • R&D Scientists - Collaborates on creation of posters, as well as evidence plans for new products

  • External:

    • KOLs - collaborate on creating and delivering content

    • Marketing Agencies - collaborates on content creation and campaign development

The Work Environment
  • This individual can be located onsite in our Raritan, NJ site or can sit remotely.

  • 25% travel, domestic and international.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $170,000 and is bonus eligible or eligible for incentive compensation. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays.
