The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA), Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for our Global Finance organization.

The SFA, FP&A will execute on or assist in key elements of budgeting and forecasting processes, internal management reporting, monthly financial performance analysis, and financial modeling. The SFA is an important member of the Corporate FP&A team and will be instrumental in supporting new reporting capabilities and requirements.

This position will be located in San Diego, CA - working on a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in the office).

The Responsibilities

  • Provide financial data and trend analysis through regular reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Assist with the preparation of worldwide management reporting packages including standard reports, metrics, and variance commentary.
  • Prepare, analyze, and review periodic forecasts, annual budgets, and strategic plans.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations for senior management
  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators; identify opportunities for financial improvement and provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management.
  • Develop and improve new and existing management reports
  • Work cross-functionally to drive process improvements and automation.
  • Participate in future finance system projects including training, initial set-up, testing, and ongoing system administration support
  • Performs other special ad-hoc projects as assigned.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting or related business experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or equivalent required.
  • Self-starter. Ability to work with little direction.
  • This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, business savvy, intellectual curiosity, and proven leadership skills.
  • Strong communication skills to convey information effectively.
  • Ability to distill large amounts of data and translate analysis into compelling presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate professionally to all levels of an organization.
  • High level of accuracy in all work.
  • Ability to identify errors or discrepancies and take action to resolve independently or involve appropriate partners as needed.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Strong bias for action and results-oriented.
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suite of products, including PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with a tier 1 ERP (i.e. SAP, Oracle etc.) is preferred.

The Key Working Relationships

This individual will provide input to and otherwise support presentations made by senior finance and business management. Working across functions and departments, this individual will have contact internally at all levels. The nature of contacts will be primarily to gather and share information.

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required (less than 15%). Travel would include visiting other QuidelOrtho sites.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $92,900 to $170,000 and is bonus eligible or eligible for incentive compensation. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
