THE ROLE

As Ortho continues to grow, we are looking for a Instructional Design Manager that will recruit, build and manage, a team of Sr. Instructional Designers and Instructional Designers (Full-time employees and Contractors) on the Global Learning and Development team. This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of effective training programs, ensuring training material meets the needs of the Commercial business and maximizes training outcomes. Drive departmental strategy to design, develop, and virtual training capabilities to further learner engagement during Virtual Instructor Training.

Proven success in prioritization, delegation and negotiation with demonstrated ability to be effective in supporting multiple stakeholders globally and across different business areas.

It is essential that the Instructional Design Manager manages multiple projects simultaneously, build and maintain effective working relationships with business partners, and be seen as a collaborative, influential and credible leader who excels in communicating with all layers of the organization including senior leadership. This position can be located in Rochester or work from home.

Team Management

  • Demonstrate proven ability and success with directing teams' day to day influencing to create an atmosphere of trust and seeking diverse views to encourage training improvement and innovation. Lead instructional design strategy for consistent design, development, and delivery of all training material. Review all projects for quality, adherence to brand standards and effective learning strategy for content and audience. Ensure ID's consistently follow departments processes and procedures.

Project Management

  • Collaborate with Sr. Managers of Global L&D to set priorities, develop and manage end to end project plans, assign ID to projects and drive on time completion.

Stakeholder Management

  • Ability to lead and collaborate with stakeholders on the analysis, design, development, and implementation of innovative and effective learning solutions that align with the strategic business needs of the organization.

Manage Resources

  • Manage and ensure that funding and resources are allocated by business priorities. Research and utilize the most cost-effective methods to create and deliver L&D programs.

  • Performs other work duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's or Masters' degree or equivalent work experience in organizational; instructional design, training, development or education.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Diagnostics Industry.

  • Minimum of 5 years People Manager experience.

  • Articulate 360 - Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Audacity, Vyond.

  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems.

  • Ability to travel Internationally and Regionally, up to about 20%.

KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Marketing, Ortho Care, Regional L&D, Customer Training, Global L&D.

  • External: Customers.

SALARY TRANSPARANCY

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $170,000 and is eligible for incentive compensation. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
