The Opportunity:

The Senior Distribution Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the marketing strategy for QuidelOrtho's portfolio through Distribution Channels. It involves the planning, execution, and tracking of effective marketing programs. The Senior Marketing Manager is accountable for the development and the execution of an annual marketing plan to support achieving the AOP (annual operating plan): from development through execution and realization, along with mitigation strategies as needed. This position is a key interface with the sales and distribution teams and ensures excellent collaboration across marketing, sales, operations, and commercial excellence. This position will report to the Senior Director, Physician Diagnostics Marketing and will be based remote in the US.

The Responsibilities:
  • Marketing Knowledge: Be an expert on our solution and services. Serve as the NA technical product expert supporting the NA Commercial Sales, Marketing, Service and Support Teams.

  • Product: Ensure effective product positioning and messaging with internal and external distribution partners is in place and is consistent with our broader portfolio. Closely work with our corporate distribution team, channel team, and distributors to effectively communicate product knowledge and programs.

  • Communication: Drive engagement, market and competitive knowledge through field travel, internal relationships, customer visits, trade shows, distribution relationships, and attendance of sales team meetings and effective communication

  • Support: Develop and execute a marketing plan(s) supporting the achievement of the NA Annual Operating Plan. Establish KPI's to measure program effectiveness and track trends.

Tactical Marketing Management

  • Develops messaging and materials in coordination with product Marketing Managers to specifically target distribution reps and distributor programs

  • Develops strategic marketing plans for non-acute distributors to support annual operating plan and guide new product launches. Assesses financial impact of marketing plan and provides data to support management approval

  • Creates and launches marketing programs and collateral material for distributors in line with established marketing plans. This includes sales brochures, customer presentations, customer and patient educational materials, and distribution national sales meetings

  • Tracks and analyzes sales performance and financial data related to products and adjusts plans where appropriate

  • Presents to teams and management to gain support for plans and drive execution

Field Travel and Support

  • Meet with distribution reps and channel sales teams in to assess satisfaction with products and programs and to identify opportunities

  • Monitor utilization and effectiveness of distribution programs and tools to identify needs for new materials, added training etc.

  • Work with account managers and specialists to support key sales efforts

  • Sales training

  • Provides distributor voice of customer and US commercial team input to business unit portfolio planning process, product design and other strategic initiative plans

  • Trains and mentor' other department members

The Interactions:

Interacts with all levels of employees.

Work closely with NA Marketing, Global Marketing, Internal and external distribution teams, Learning and Development, Service, Technical, Customer Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Sales Enablement, Commercial Excellence.

The Work Environment:

Field travel with sales team and meeting with customers, at least 20% per month or 4 field travel days.

The Physical Demands:

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials (up to 10 lbs.) is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to reach, climb or balance. On a typical day, 80% of time is spent at the desk, on the phone, or working at the computer; 20% in meetings or interacting with team members. May require significant domestic and/or international travel.

The Individual:
  • Minimum Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree is a plus, but not required.

  • Background: Minimum 7 years of experience in the healthcare industry with commercial experience in marketing or sales required. Experience with in vitro diagnostic industry and/or working with or supporting distribution strongly preferred.

  • Business Acumen: Excellent leadership, strategy, and project management skills

  • Communication: Advanced listening, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Highly professional demeanor required

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Execute on downstream Marketing Strategy

  • Manage KPIs & Strategic Imperatives

  • Collaborate with Field Sales/Customer-Facing Teams

  • Support commercial organizations in achieving AOP. Provide updates on the business, demand plan, and forecast

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $92,900 to $170,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
