Job Description:

This position supports the Navy at Naval Sea Systems Command in its mission of providing research and development, acquisition, and life cycle support for complex ashore and afloat equipment and systems. As a Mid-level Engineer, you will act as the lead manager and administrator for project engineering efforts and oversee project resources.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Mid-level Engineer, you will:

  • Function as the lead manager and administrator for project engineering efforts and handle project resources.

  • Oversee and control financial and administrative aspects of the project with respect to contract requirements.

  • Draft technical acquisition documentation.

  • Provide systems engineering analysis and assist in the development of program technical information and documentation.

  • Conduct modeling, simulation, analysis, and assessment of system capabilities.

  • Provide expertise in system engineering trade off studies, performance metrics, and system requirements.

  • Assist in the planning and monitoring of test programs and provide research on test and evaluation standards and control techniques to ensure effective quality control.

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related discipline and 2.5 or more years of qualifying experience or 5 or more years of qualifying experience.

  • At least half of the years of experience should come from engineering and technical program management of government contracts, preferably USN, involving supervision of technical, engineering, and administrative personnel to complete tasks relating to the design, development, integration and delivery of complex systems

  • Hold a DoD acquisition background with respect to executing acquisition category (ACAT) I-IV levels and Abbreviated Acquisition Programs (AAPs) in addition to familiarity with Department of the Navy (DoN) program office business practices.
