Job Description:

This position supports the Navy Expeditionary Missions enterprise (PMS-408) at the Naval Sea Systems Command in its mission of providing research and development, acquisition, and life cycle support for Navy EOD afloat and ashore equipment and systems. As the DPM, you will provide management and leadership support for the overall contract, assisting the PM and serving as one of the primary interface and point of contact with the Government on technical program and contract administration issues.

Job Responsibilities:

As a DPM, you will:

  • Support the PM as overall lead, manager, and administrator for the contract effort.

  • Serve as one of the primary interface and point of contact with the Government on technical program and contract administration issues related to Underwater and Joint Service EOD matters.

  • Assist in overseeing program operations.

  • Develop engineering, technical and management procedures, and controls, planning and assist in directing project execution, monitoring, and reporting progress.

  • Assist in administration of acquisition and the employment of program resources.

  • Act as assistant, overseeing and controlling financial and administrative aspects of the program particularly with respect to contract requirements.

  • Occasional travel to various sites in CONUS to acquire needed information or materials.

  • Attend, support, or brief Government-sponsored meetings as required to discuss progress of the effort, issues identified, and any areas of concern that need resolution.

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in a recognized engineering, scientific, mathematics, or technical discipline and 10 years of qualifying experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related field with 15 or more years of qualifying experience is required.

  • At least half of the years of experience in program management of government contracts involving supervision of technical, program, and administrative personnel is required.

  • Experience with UWEOD and JEOD programs preferred.
  • Graduate of NAVSCOLEOD and former military EOD experience a plus.
  • A DoD acquisition background with respect to executing acquisition category (ACAT) II-III levels and Abbreviated Acquisition Programs (AAPs) in addition to familiarity with Department of the Navy (DoN) program office business practices is required.
