The Opportunity

As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Senior Accountant. This individual is an integral member of the accounting team through handling of daily accounting tasks, seeking process improvements as well as identifying methods to improve business performance, reporting, and compliance. This position will support fringe accounting, the monthly consolidation process and reporting, other accruals (e.g. Agile1 and Cellular Phone accruals), etc. This position is located in Rochester, NY.

The Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Assist with audits, period end, quarter end and year end accounting processes
  • Cross-train on other general accounting tasks to act as backup (e.g. Lease Accounting & LeaseCalcs system).
  • Update and maintain process documentation (e.g. work instructions, standard operating procedures, etc.).
  • Complete other assignments as requested.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management.
  • Strong organizational skills required to coordinate and manage across multiple organizations, processes and initiatives.
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus.
