The Opportunity

As the company continues to grow we are seeking a Process Mechanic II for the Film Manufacturing Operation located in Rochester, NY. The Process Mechanic II will maintain, trouble shoot and repair equipment for various manufacturing processes in an FDA regulated environment for various processes including but not limited to metallization, formulation, coating, and web converting. This individual will work as part of a team of engineers, mechanics, and operators in support of these operations. This individual will work in an FDA regulated medical device manufacturing operation with high regard for safety practices and systems and therefore be required to understand and comply with appropriate regulations. This individual must also have flexibility for shift work (currently A / B rotation , and or fixed C shift operational support Monday through Friday) with occasional weekends and overtime outside of their scheduled hours to help support business needs.

This position is in Rochester, NY.

The Responsibilities

  • Performs daily preventive and demand maintenance tasks for production machinery or facilities.

  • Addresses maintenance demands to meet production schedules.

  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, procedures, and drawings to perform required maintenance.

  • Performs root cause analysis, communicates recommendations, and implements solutions that prevent reoccurrence.

  • Orders parts and supplies required to maintain equipment.

  • Documents preventive and corrective maintenance work utilizing a computerized maintenance management system.

  • Makes recommendations for modifications to enhance equipment life or productivity.

  • Provides input and technical support to new projects.

  • Demonstrates good teamwork while working to resolve technical problems.

  • Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Successfully completes job training requirements.

  • Follows site lock-out tag-out requirements while servicing any equipment.

  • Maintains work areas and shop in neat and orderly condition.

  • Adheres to all company safety and site policy/regulations.

The Individual

  • Candidates should have a minimum Certificate / AAS in mechanical/electrical technologies or related degree or completed an apprenticeship and/or formal automated equipment mechanic training. Equivalent experience will be considered.

  • A minimum of 12 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of automated machinery and related subsystems, including:

    • Process / machine control

    • Programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

    • Mechanics

    • Electrical systems

    • Basic hydraulics / pneumatics

  • Able to read and interpret:

    • Drawings and schematics

    • Equipment specifications

    • Maintenance procedures

  • Experience with any of the following processes is a plus:

    • HVAC

    • Intrinsically Safe Equipment

    • Metallization

    • Formulation Equipment

    • Coating Technology

    • Web Converting
