Job Description

Advantage Technical is seeking a Document Control Specialist in the Los Angeles, CA area.

  • Under minimal supervision performs a variety of document control functions.

  • Plans, organizes, and implements systems for efficient document.

  • Assists in performing configuration management, data management or a combination.

  • May structure and maintain databases, assist in using engineering design drawings, parts lists, code or other items to create and document baselines; verifies authorization for and incorporates all changes or additions to them.

  • Responsible for logging, filing and tracking all necessary drawings, documents, lists and various other items.


Major functions:

* Responsible for Configuration Management functions which includes:
* Create and enter part numbers and parts lists into the system.
* Analyze and review engineering change activities to ensure adherence to company procedures and policies as well as configuration management best practices.
* Proper documentation and execution of proposed changes.
* Ensure proper approval authority of changes.
* Ensure proper notification of change releases and archival of documentation.
* Reproduce, organize, process, distribute, and scan documents and maintain master engineering drawings/documents, bills of material and manuals, such as Operation and Maintenance, and GSC.
* Reproduce presentations, O & M Manuals and other documents as requested.
* Ensure proper marking of Proprietary and Export Control statements of engineering documents.
* Identify and implement process improvements as approved by management.
* Completes requests for drawings, scans to pdf bills of material, scans to pdf full size drawings, and copies of presentations, manuals, etc.

Technical/Functional skills:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in an Engineering Document Control environment and 1 year experience with an electronic Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Proficient Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Acrobat. Experience with AutoCAD
preferred.
