We are seeking a Senior Contract Specialist for a federal client in the Washington Metro Area. This role is remote/home office but the selected candidate must reside in the WMA.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will fill a key position providing a wide range of professional acquisition and contract support services supporting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Information Technology (IT) operations and their customers in the areas of requirements development, acquisition planning, acquisition tracking and reporting, communications and presentations development and delivery, source selection, and contract administration.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Full life cycle ("cradle to grave") Information Technology (IT) acquisition and contract management support.
  • Assist agency contracting office with drafting various contract documents including base contracts, modifications, limited competition justification, purchase orders, market research and market surveys, and provide acquisition monitoring and contract administration support.
  • Provide acquisition planning and technical evaluation support, prepare Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs) and requirements documentation.
  • Review acquisition packages for compliance with policies and procedures, maintain a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency supplemental regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of communications and briefings on contracts and contract administration activities.

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. / B.A. Degree is required.
  • At least 12 years of federal acquisition experience is required with 2 years of leadership/management
  • Ability to pass a federal background check for facility access is required.
  • Knowledge of the Federal acquisition process and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong background in researching and acquiring commercial IT-related supplies and/or services for the Federal Government.
  • Experience as an 1102 in the Federal Government is highly desirable.
  • Experience with major contract writing and acquisition tracking systems is highly desirable.
  • DAWIA /FAC-C and CFCM or CPCM certifications are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • All candidates shall be thoroughly familiar and proficient in the use of commercial software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, possess excellent writing skills, and be able to communicate clear and concisely orally and in writing.
