Job Title: EMCS Operator (DOE -F)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for an EMCS Operator in Washington, DC.

The EMCS Operator will inspect, test, adjust, and repair new or existing electronic mechanical and pneumatic automation devices and systems on service accounts and service calls. The EMCS Operator will also diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consults with building management / facilities (Customer) to determine BAS issues.
  • Accurately generates detailed and precise work order reports / documentation containing but not limited to problem descriptions, corrective measures, problem solutions, and recommended repairs.
  • Performs the necessary testing inspections and adjustments on building management systems peripherals including:
    • Temperature sensors
    • Dry
    • Wet
    • Control valves
    • Control actuators
    • Pressure sensors/ transmitters
    • Flowmeters
    • Relays
  • Performs the necessary testing, inspections, and adjustments on Building Management System Devices including:
    • Network controllers
    • System controllers
    • Application controllers
    • Zone sensors
  • Performs the necessary testing, inspections, and adjustments on building management system software including:
    • Scheduling
    • Setpoint adjustments
    • I/O point modifications
    • Point Trending
    • System reports
  • Modifies existing system graphics
  • Reroute and replace defective control wiring and or pneumatic tubing pertaining to peripherals as needed.
  • Marks up schematic drawings sketches and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments circuits and systems for as built drawings.
  • Makes the necessary coordination and communication with the construction and or mechanical service team members to execute installation mechanical repairs or modification.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferably electrical or mechanical parentheses equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Engineering/ technical skills required include:
    • working knowledge of at least one HVAC control system preferably (JCI, Siemens Apogee)
    • Must possess a 40-hour master level certification from Siemens.
    • Basic knowledge of electronics mechanics and pneumatics
    • experience with control system architecture design programming graphics or maintenance desire
    • ability to read and identify components on a controlled drawing
    • ability to identifying mechanical equipment on drawings
      • chillers, boilers, pumps, AHU's, FCU's, VAV's, EF's.
  • Understand basic electrical control circuits including 24VAC power and controller input/outputs
  • Understand simple controls networking principles
  • good general computer skills including MS office, Word and or Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Work requires an abundance of walking, bending, kneeling, and working in uncomfortable positions.
