Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Learn to manage all company fire alarm system installations for the Construction Division, Residential Division and SPS Division to include assistance in estimating, design, scope, permitting and purchase of the system.
  • Attend all company monthly meetings to include the managers meeting, the estimating meeting, the superintendent fire alarm meeting and the SPS Staff meeting.
  • Assist the FLS Department Manager with overseeing and assisting in the daily operations of the SPS FLS Service, Testing and Sprinkler Division.
  • Work with the field superintendents to select the fire alarm foreman for each project and insure he has the proper help to complete the project on time.
  • Estimate fire alarm/sprinkler testing contracts.
  • Estimate fire alarm/sprinkler service proposals.
  • Estimate and manage fire alarm retrofit projects.
  • Meet with property managers and building engineers to sell service, testing and monitoring contracts.
  • Provide training for field technicians to keep them abreast of all new technologies and up to date on all training and certifications.
  • Assist the Fire Life Safety Account Manager with scheduling and invoicing/billing issues.
  • Follow up and maintain a working relationship with all customers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems
  • Experience in the installation, service and testing of Fire Alarm Systems
  • JATC IBEW Local #26 Apprenticeship Program or Equivalent
  • NICET Certification
  • Continuing education classes in the design, installation, and service of Fire Alarm Systems

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • ViewPoint
  • CAD
  • Bluebeam
  • AccuBid

Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the FLS SPS Coordinator, FLS Construction Coordinator and the FLS SPS Field Operations Manager in daily operations and FLS Account Manager.

Physical Demands

Must be able to walk construction projects and go up and down steps. May have to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions and slippery and uneven working/walking surfaces. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
