GSE seeks a DevOps Engineer to become an integral part of a diverse team. The ideal candidate will be experienced, motivated, career and customer oriented. This position is in Sterling, VA (near Dulles Airport).

A day in the life (a general sampling of the things you may do in a given day):

  • Work with a team of physicists and data scientists administering and engineering large databases, web applications, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot problems and maintain front-end/back-end system operation and performance.
  • Liaises with external government entities (client and support organizations).
  • Invents and implements methods and algorithms for threat determination and failure analysis.
  • Writes and reviews code to accomplish mission goals.
  • Review changes to requests and proposals; strategizes future operations.
  • Develop a clear vision of projects and move quickly to build proof of concept.
  • Must have demonstrated professional experience in analytic technical writing.
  • Excellent oral communicator.

What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • BS in Information technology or related field.
  • Experience deploying websites using PKI and identify providers.
  • Knowledge of and experience with VM and container configurations.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases to be able to provide light database administration, configuration, and maintenance services.
  • Ability to coordinate with government agencies while maintaining IT infrastructure.
  • Advance scripting ability (bash, Powershell) and some programming ability (Python preferred).
  • Must have demonstrated professional experience in analytic technical writing.
  • Excellent oral communicator.
  • Some exposure to network infrastructure such as message queues, web services, authentication services, and Ajax/JSON APIs is a plus.
  • Server administration (NGINIS, IIS, Apache, or equivalent) a plus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines a plus.
  • Active Secret clearance
