Global Science & Technology, Inc. (GST), a growing scientific and high technology company, is seeking a full time Procurement Coordinator to support the NASA Science Support Office at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

The Procurement Coordinator position will be based in Greenbelt, MD. The position involves travel (~10%) to events when required.


Position Summary:

The Procurement Coordinator will assist the NASA Science Support Office (SSO) in procurement processes to meet logistical requirements for domestic and international science conferences, e.g., purchase all in-booth furnishings, electrical, and telecommunication requirements, and coordinate material and equipment shipments to conference venues. This person will purchase and document all non-conference related items, e.g. software, computer peripherals, publications, and graphic products. The Program Coordinator will also process travel forms and travel reimbursements, maintain several internal databases, and provide administrative assistance to task leads, and participate in local NASA outreach events.


Primary Duties:

  • Secure all exhibit contracts and conference logistics with each conference's management team, contractors, customer service and billing representatives, and warehouse and shipping contractors.
  • Register exhibit staff.
  • Create purchase requests for all task purchases in GST's electronic request system. Reconcile credit card purchases.
  • Order printing services and products using internal and external resources. Facilitate vendor deliveries.
  • Compile and document conference schedules and maintain event cost database.
  • Maintain various databases, e.g., Earth Observer newsletter subscriber database, NASA Science Calendar delivery information, and task's conference database.
  • Serve as POC for task's travel procedures, e.g., acquire ATR and/or COTR approval, process travel request forms in the electronic request system, review travel vouchers for accuracy. Coordinate disbursement of travel advance & reimbursement checks.
  • Assist in local science and public outreach events supported by NASA's Earth Science Division and Science Mission Directorate. Staff hands-on activities and demonstrations. Travel as needed to staff non-local conferences.
  • Coordinate staff meetings and assist in coordinating special events.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Experience with software and database applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Google suite
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills. Attention to details. Ability to perform well in a fast paced, demanding environment. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision. Very good problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to participate in NASA public engagement events.

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (green card) required.
