To meet our needs, we are looking for a Desk Officer to support a client's challenging operational requirements at multiple locations in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Desk Officers require initiative, creativity, technical excellence, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. They are expected to develop and maintain broad professional networks across the Intelligence Community and government. Ideal candidates are inquisitive, investigative and action-oriented with the ability to take initiative and deliver solutions. Successful candidates are self-starters who can multi-task and remain calm under pressure with the ability to work independently and in a group. They must be able to deal effectively, comfortably, and confidently with customer managers at all levels of responsibility. Desk Officers apply advanced knowledge and expertise of operations, operational tradecraft, and intelligence priorities when providing strategic guidance and operational case management. In addition, they are responsible for program management throughout the customer, from traditional operational activities to specialized initiatives. The demanding pace of operations has Desk Officers finding solutions to complex operational problems, identifying new technical tools and capabilities to advance operations, and tapping the resources of the IC to ensure operational requirements are met. They provide objective reviews of ongoing and potential operations and serve as the vital link between personnel in the field and the Intelligence Community. These positions require prior experience in supporting intelligence operations or familiarity with the Intelligence Community and its objectives. Successful candidates must work well in team environments and be capable of operating independently with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Active Top Secret SCI security clearance with Poly
  • Familiarity with cable writing and classified databases, including specific targeting tools
  • Strong briefing and writing skills as well as the ability to work well with teams or individually with minimal supervision
  • Regional and/or functional expertise in a geographic region of interest

Desired Qualifications:

  • Customer certification as a Desk Officer or Staff Operations Officer
  • Foreign field experience from at least one overseas tour or extensive overseas TDY experience
  • Experience in Intelligence Operations / Analysis / Support to Field Operations
  • Experience identifying targeting leads through the exploitation of all-source databases
  • Experience using customer databases to monitor field traffic and communicate with field offices
