We are hiring for a Cloud Data Architect to help scale our brand-new enterprise SaaS platform. This is a hands-on architecture role, requiring enterprise-level experience with microservices, Google Cloud Platform, and PostgreSQL. This project has been a massive undertaking with an extensive development history, so now is a great time to join as we have entered the 'go-live' phase!

This is a 100% remote job, however MIDWEST or EAST COAST locations are preferred due to operating team business hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Guides robust and scalable design patterns in products that meet customer requirements and are extensible and anticipate future product needs;
  • Contributes to architectural scoping document reviews, and conducts architectural reviews for a product or subsystem;
  • Anticipates the key architectural issues and offers alternatives, ideally in the planning phase for a product;
  • Recognizes patterns of defects and drives improvements that are adopted across the product line;
  • Establishes and communicates best practices for architecture, design and development methods across product teams.
  • Act as a mentor to team members and aid in adherence to established coding techniques and standards;
  • Discover, present, and trial new technologies, design patterns, and practices;

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of hands-on software product development experience including a minimum of 3 years' experience with analysis, design, and programming in a multi-product software development organization;
  • Strong recent hands-on experience with GCP and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with analysis, specification, design, development, testing, and deployment of software systems;
  • Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting and resolving issues during all phases of the product development life cycle;
  • Proven experience in major cloud SaaS, IaaS, and Data technologies
  • Must be well-versed in API and microservice design principles
  • Proficient in one or more Relational and Non-Relational DB technologies
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies including unit testing, test-driven development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), Pair Programming, and Automated Testing;
  • Strong emphasis on engineering best practices including Peer Reviews, Code Inspections, and Automation.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
