Job Title: Chief Engineer ( New York University)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Chief Engineer in Washington, DC to provide operations and maintenance support for the New York University Campus in Washington, DC. Must possess a valid 1st or 3rd Class Steam Engineer License issued the District of Columbia

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of other on-site staff.
  • Performing duties associated with the operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration and air-conditioning and heating equipment
  • Making adjustments and minor repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment and component parts of heating and air-conditioning systems and auxiliary support equipment
  • Making physical inspections of equipment and tests equipment for correct operation of all components of the refrigeration cycle and other relevant factors contributing to the proper and efficient operation of HVAC systems
  • Answering occupants' complaints relating to HVAC
  • Providing technical support in the efficient and safe operation and maintenance of all mechanical equipment
  • Proposing operational changes to improve efficient use of the facilities equipment.
  • Supervise contractors performing work at the site
  • Participate in weekly update meetings with the client

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid 1st or 3rd Class Steam Engineer License issued the District of Columbia
  • Possess skill and knowledge in HVAC systems
  • Have the ability to perform preventive maintenance on all operational and mechanical equipment
  • Have knowledge to operate related electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Must fluently speak, read and write the English language
