Cruz Associates Inc. () of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for an Engineering/Explosive Technician. The job location is at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD.

Scope of Performance: This position is that of an Engineering/Explosive Technician, Naval Surface Warfare Center, IHEODTD. This position will be fulltime (40 hrs. weekly) Technician shall be subject to physical examinations and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of duties that include, but not limited to, operation of energetic equipment, operation of energetic transport vehicles, and storage of energetic material.
• Responsible for inspection of energetic/hazardous material.
• Understanding and utilizing hazardous waste practices for transport and storage.
• Maintain records/track shipments of energetic/material.
• Responsible for following Standard Operating Procedures for production of energetic/hazardous material.
• Use of equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, trucks, and other various lifting equipment

Education and Experience - Required:

• Experience with forklifts, loading equipment, and trucking driving/transport
• Prior knowledge in ordnance/hazardous material handling
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
• Ability to pass Ammo-18 Certification class
• Ability to work with automated computer systems
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, both military and private industry
