The Center for Sleep and Health Research, Department of Biobehavioral Nursing Science seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to carry out projects in the field of sleep health and sleep disturbances including sleep-disordered breathing (SDB), circadian misalignment, and metabolic health in pregnancy. The research projects will use a behavioral sleep intervention to improve pregnancy outcomes. Expertise related to these research areas is ideal, but training will be offered. Highly motivated candidates with independency in biobehavioral research using quantitative methods, randomized control design, data gathering and analysis, manuscript, and grant preparation, as well as strong interpersonal skills are especially encouraged. The position is available now and will remain open until it is filled.

  • Carry out projects in the fields of sleep and metabolic health
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigator, co-investigators, key personnel and researchers to design, manage and coordinate research grants/projects.
  • Design and conduct behavioral research
  • Collect, analyze and interpret data
  • Write abstracts, manuscripts for publication.
  • Contribute to and independently take part in grant writing and grant applications.
  • Publish original scientific research in peer-review journals and present at professional meetings.
  • Present results in national/international conferences
  • Advise undergraduate honors students and PhD students
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Minimum Qualifications: PhD/Doctorate degree in nursing, public health, psychology, medicine or other related health science fields. Applicants must be within the first five years of receiving their PhD/Doctorate to be eligible for this position.
  • 1-3 years of related experience in biobehavioral research using quantitative methods. Expertise broadly relevant to project management, statistical analysis, and writing for publication in peer reviewed journals is necessary.
