Position Summary

The Principal System Administrator will be a technical leader that brings their deep understanding of ServiceNow's platform to design and support business solutions for our internal and external customers.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

  • Ensures platform alignment with the business strategy
  • Provides consultative technical leadership to the platform team
  • Creates and maintains a detailed view of the existing architecture
  • Provides architectural controls to ensure the correct technical solutions are used when delivering business solutions
  • Resolves technical escalations, including responding to defects
  • Participates in process workshops
  • Works closely with enterprise architecture team
  • Assists in migrating configuration across instances
  • Leads the integration of the platform to other systems and processes
  • Maintains the stability and usability of the platform across production and non-production environments
  • Performs application maintenance to include performance monitoring and error identification and remediation
  • Provide administrative support to the ServiceNow user base
  • Monitor and optimize the health, usage, and overall compliance of the ServiceNow platform

  • What You Will Need:

    Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience supporting enterprise applications
  • 3+ years of direct administration experience with ServiceNow
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow components such as Service Catalog, Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, Release, Knowledge, Performance Analytics etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of ServiceNow's Customer Service Management suite.
  • Working knowledge of the IT Operations Management (ITOM) suite of capabilities, to include MID deployment, Discovery, CMDB, Orchestration, Event Management, Operations Intelligence, Service Mapping, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of ServiceNow best practices and ongoing knowledge of latest ServiceNow features

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing Customer Service Management in a large enterprise environment
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • ServiceNow Certified Developer
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across multiple levels of an organization
  • Proven track record of organizational skills to determine prioritization and manage multiple projects and requests to drive customer success
  • Excellent writing skills for generating clear, concise release notes and documentation
  • Strong analytical capabilities coupled with business acumen needed to proactively solve problems facing the organization
  • Experience in mentoring junior level administrators and advanced level users
  • while encouraging collaboration and teamwork across multiple internal teams
  • Demonstrated experience with the Agile methodology, leading sprint planning efforts, reviewing stories against business requirements, managing epics and ordering development logically.
