Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain of Class A-5 or B CDL with necessary endorsements based on area of assignment within 1 year of hire date.
This position is required to operate the below equipment, machines, tools, and other work aides:
Hammers, tape measure, wrenches, shovel, rake, pruners, transit and levels, Johnson bar, screwdrivers, concrete tools, chain saw, weed eater, drills, circular saw, cut saw, skill saw, compactors, pumps, generators, truck, van, forklift, front-end loader, dump truck, forklift, high pressure cleaning equipment, remote control camera, and other power and manual tools and equipment required to perform the work including proper personal protective gear.
Basic computer skills for communicating via email and for utilizing the City's intranet system and GIS to obtain information is highly desirable and is a necessary skill to learn prior to qualifying for internal promotional opportunities.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, or G.E.D. Certificate AND one (1) year experience as a semi-skilled laborer in the maintenance or construction field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
