Job Title: Laborer (NARA I)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Laborer in Washington, DC. The Laborer will assist and perform minor tasks under the close supervision of a maintenance tradesman or mechanic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs and/or assists other technicians/specialists with repairs and upkeep to facilities, amenities and grounds.
  • Inspects, cleans, and organizes common area facilities and amenities.
  • Efficiently inspects, and organizes common areas, facilities, mechanical spaces.
  • Identifies, corrects, and/or reports hazards or concerns found on common area parcels or facilities.
  • Maintains, operates, organizes, and cleans maintenance facility, vehicles, utility vehicles, small engine equipment and hand tools.
  • Assist other maintenance staff as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must complete the OSHA 10 General Safety and Health training class (supplied by EMCOR).
  • Ability to work extended hours or weekend overtime, if needed.
  • Must be able to pass a background check including a drug test.

Physical Demands:

The work requires the ability to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs. to heavy items; to walk, climb stairs and able to work on ladders over 12 feet in length, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment; and to use hands, arms and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade. Employee is responsible for complying with life safety and OSHA requirements
