Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic (NARA I)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Washington, DC. Perform various general building maintenance functions in a variety of skilled and semi-skilled craft trades to support mechanical and electrical heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs minor adjustment and repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and sewage systems; architectural and structural building components; interior and exterior entrance doors; all door locks, windows, floors systems, roof systems, roof gutters, downspouts, window, and floor coverings.
  • Perform maintenance of site equipment and building structure.
  • Minor touch-up painting consistent with preventive maintenance functions and minor repairs.
  • Minor preventive maintenance functions which include, but are not limited to changing filters, cleaning cooling towers, heating, and cooling coils; cleaning floor drains, grease traps, roof gutters, downspouts; and changing fluorescent tubes and other light bulbs where needed
  • Miscellaneous functions such as assembling and disassembling "systems furniture;" removing and installing signs and picture frames; assisting in relocating furniture and computers; and performing other similar duties
  • Perform daily assignments as tasked.
  • Report any deficiencies found while performing the job.
  • Provide feedback on Preventive Maintenance.
  • Perform other tasks as directed.

Qualifications:

  • General knowledge in Facility Operations and Maintenance.
  • Have practical working experience with a variety of different skilled craft trades
  • Must have a basic knowledge of each craft trade performing the individual functions for building operations, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities. These include electricity, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, and communication systems.

Physical Demands:

  • Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs / push up to 100 lbs)
  • Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking.
  • Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility.
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
