POSITION SUMMARY


As a Consultant, you will manage small projects or project tasks to deadlines, to include managing resources (i.e., time, budget, people) with limited supervision. We hire for the company, not for specific projects. As such, Consultants will have diverse experiences and opportunities to work on cross-functional projects and collaborate with talented team members throughout the company to develop a breadth of experience and expertise. Specific responsibilities may vary and include:

  • Facilitate and manage client meetings to achieve identified, desired outcomes
  • Design and manage the production of client-ready deliverables, demonstrating the ability to determine and prioritize activities, and manage resources to complete tasks
  • Conduct analysis of data (quantitative and qualitative) to identify gaps and make recommendations
  • Present research findings (e.g., Excel charts, PowerPoint presentations)
  • Manage project lanes or small projects to completion by scoping tasks and managing resources to complete such tasks on time, within budget, and to specifications
  • Develop and maintain general institutional knowledge of clients; their culture, organization, and issues
  • Provide logistical support (e.g., travel, scheduling, knowledge capture)
  • Support the development of proposals; sometimes serving as a proposal coordinator
  • Support the professional training and development of junior team members when required

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of four years of professional work experience
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation creation tools, and internet research tools. Familiarity with Google Suite a plus
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a positive suitability determination (required for select projects)
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites in the surrounding DC and Baltimore metro areas; occasional travel outside of these regions could be expected (5%)
  • Desired Skills, Experiences and Certifications: Prior consulting experience at a services firm, or client-facing environment, PMP and/or Prosci certification, change management, strategic communication, program management, or organizational design experience

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS


While performing duties of this job, an employee may be required to perform any, or all of the following: Attend meetings in and out of the office, travel (sometimes extensively); Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); Ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; Occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally walking, climbing stairs, and standing occur in this role. Additionally, this job requires certain mental demands, including the ability to use judgement, withstand moderate amounts of stress and maintain attention to detail.
