RWJUH is seeking a Training & Development Specialist in Human Resources for our New Brunswick Campus. This is a full- time position.

This position is accountable for identifying development needs (of all levels of the organization), instructional design, program development, implementation and evaluation to meet strategic business needs. The Training & Development Specialist provides leadership and best practices in support of improving our patient centered culture of safety, service and performance management.

1) Support Mission, Values and Vision with the deployment of strategic Leadership frameworks; identifying gaps in performance at all levels of staff and leadership, and proposing approaches, curriculum, tools, and validation as appropriate.

2) Promote best practices, integration and organizational development and learning.

3) Work closely with Hospital departments, such as Human Resources, and Nursing Education and Research, to execute on the organizational development goals.

Collaboration

Works collaboratively with Education, Human Resources, Quality & Standards and other departments as needed. Participates in New employee on boarding and orientation as needed. Participates in designated Medical Center and System committees.

Development & Facilitation

Develops & facilitates cohesive leadership & staff learning programs that include classroom type, interactive as well as on-line learning. This includes project work, coaching &opportunities to share best practices.

Lead & Provide Counsel

Lead and provide counsel and support to OD change initiatives. Providing counsel to supervisors and managers in diagnosing and addressing individual and team performance issues.

Measure & Implement Strategy

Measures effectiveness of strategies and programs; implements adjustments as needed to ensure achievement of established goals. Works with third parties (PG, etc.) regarding data integration and plans of correction affecting the Culture of Patient Safety and Service Excellence.

Organizational Development

Assesses organizational development needs through a variety of methods; prepares and presents recommendations. Provides OD interventions that reinforce RWJBHUH s vision, mission and goals.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree Required;
  • Minimum of 2-5 years in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training & Development, Education, Performance Improvement or commensurate field required;
  • Master s Degree preferred.
  • Must have experience in creating and facilitating learning and development programs using adult learning theories and experiential learning concepts with diverse groups.

Required Skills:

  • Proven ability to effectively facilitate groups and communicate with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Work Contact Group: All hospital departments, patients, families, visitors, nursing personnel, medical staff, general public and System Business Office.
