Job Title: Security Assistant (AFSO)

Job Summary:

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Security Assistant (AFSO) in Arlington, VA. The Security Assistant (AFSO) will work closely with the Corporate Security Manager and performs a variety of administrative/clerical support functions to ensure the integrity and availability of confidential employee data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all Security personnel folders are created, filed, and stored in their appropriate locations and in a timely manner.
  • Accurately performs filing of security/badging documents consistent with departmental procedures.
  • Follow up with employees on security/badging documents
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Security Manager related to obtaining and maintaining Kastle badges.
  • May perform data entry for personnel changes in DISS/ NISS systems
  • Retrieving and/or duplicating documents to support internal and external audits.
  • Assist with the NISPOM self-inspection and upload the NISS.
  • Assist with Annual enrollment Projects.
  • Support the FSO and HQ office with administrative and clerical duties as needed.
  • Other related duties and or projects as assigned.


  • Active Security Clearance is preferred
  • One (1) year of clerical experience, including filing and data entry, with experience managing controlled document retention, storage and disposition.
  • CDSE Certification or FSO Courses preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently or in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organization / time management skills
  • Basic end-user skills in Microsoft Word & Excel. Basic knowledge of database management with ability to learn specific database applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; with attention to detail.
  • Ability to use basic office equipment (e.g. copier, fax, calculator, multi-featured telephones, etc.).
  • Ensures the confidentiality and security of all information relating to position.
  • Position requires use of good judgment, tact, and the need to exercise discretion in performing clerical functions which involve confidential information.
