This position may have some office hours during the regular work week (8:30-4:30). However, when sports are in competition the primary schedule will revolve around home events that typically occur on nights and weekends. Most of these events will require between 2-4 hours of work, depending on the event.

Job Description

The Northern Kentucky University Athletic Communications department seeks a qualified candidate to fill the role of Athletic Communications Student Photographer. The student-worker will assist two full-time staff and one graduate assistant with regular photography duties in the department, which includes both still (headshots and posed action) and live (in-game action) images.

Primary Responsibilities

* Assist with and shoot game-day events, providing a set of images for an array of purposes (website, social media, archival, etc.)
* Assist with other photography needs, including headshots and posed action pictures
* Aid athletic department by taking images during special events (golf outing, gala, etc.), as well as photographing facilities
* Edit photographs using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Bridge, Lightroom)
* Archive photographs

Qualifications

Must be accepted into an NKU undergraduate program and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours, maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better.
Position is under contract for one academic year with option for renewal.
Experience in photography, particularly with the use of a DSLR.
Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop is a plus.
Evidence of strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly to convey thoughts, ideas and plans clearly to NKU Coaches, Administrators and other staff members.
