Answer multi-line and emergency phones.
Act as an after-hours emergency switchboard.
Gather information for emergency and non-emergency complaints and prioritize all calls according to importance.
Relay information as appropriate.
Greet walk-in customers; serve as receptionist.
Using computer, maintain duty log of all police officers, security officers and campus safety officers.
Using specialized software (computer aided dispatch and MULES), enter and retrieve criminal action information.
Maintain call lists for routing of calls. Maintain daily logs.
Generate daily incident report forms and Clery reports.
Prepare and distribute records/reports as designated to campus, courts and others as specified.
Provide reports to the public and collect appropriate fees for reports and fingerprints.
Prepare administrative reports and records.
Handle multi-channel police radio console to route appropriate personnel to designated areas in response to calls for assistance, crimes, buildings, alarms, and traffic stops among other things.
Monitor alarm systems for University buildings and security cameras.
Make callouts and fill out work orders.
Enter police reports (incidents, accidents, bookings, dispositions, follow-ups, etc).
File and store reports and records.
May conduct field training for new communications operators.
Other duties as assigned.
Salary: $13.27-$22.73 per hour

A high school diploma and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

Expected Duration of the Selection Process:
Position will be posted at a minimum through May 31, 2021 at which time qualified applicants may be contacted for interviews. Position will remain posted until open positions are filled. Additional positions may be posted to this vacancy if additional positions become available.
Agencies Policy on Reapplication:
The Police Department allows applicants not selected to reapply. This includes all applicants who successfully completed the selection process but were not offered employment. All applicants must reapply to be considered in future positions.
