General Information

JMU College of Education (COE) is seeking Student Teacher Supervisors to observe future teachers in local school systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities will vary based on the level of practicum that you supervise. However, in all practicums, Student Teacher Supervisors will:
-Visit the classrooms where students are placed during the semester,
-Observe JMU practicum students and note dispositions displayed
-Communicate with the cooperating teacher about the practicum student's performance, dispositions, and skills
-Consult with the cooperating teacher and the JMU program coordinator if any problems and/or concerns arise

Additional Posting Information

Applicants will submit an online application, including resume, cover letter, and names and contact information for three references. Note in your cover letter if you are interested in supervising elementary, middle/secondary or special education pre-service teachers.

Pay Rate is based on number of students supervised per block.

These are temporary, part-time positions with no benefits. Student Teacher Supervisors will work 1.1 hours per week, per student. Positions will start 8/25/2021 and continue on a block-by-block basis, based on COE need.

Block dates are as follows:

Fall 2021
Block 1 - 8/25/21 - 10/22/21
Block 2 - 10/25/21 - 12/16/21

Spring 2022
Block 3 - 1/18/22 - 3/11/22
Block 4 - 3/14/22 - 5/11/22
