Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will work on projects in support of SSOE's growth in the Glass and Manufacturing sectors.

The Mechanical Engineer will provide sound, unique, and comprehensive design solutions to complex projects. Will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical engineering on glass and mfg. process and utility systems. Metals project experience is a plus
  • Perform as the lead engineer for the discipline on a project.
  • Direct the design of other engineers, designers and sub-contractors to support his/her effort.
  • Travel to client faclilities for gathering of field data.
  • Travel to client facilities and provide on site technical help working with contractors.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree / RELATED / 8+
OSHA 10/30-hour Construction Certificate preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Prefer someone with experience in the following areas:
    - Design of air systems, fans, ducting and dampers (Experience with hot, saturated and particulate air air plus)
    - Design of combustion systems.
    - Design of cooling water and piping systems.
    - Metals equipment projects and design experience would be a plus.
    - Experience in machine design or modifications would also be beneficial, but notrequired
  • Self starter and minimal leadership required. Takes initiative.
  • Attention to detail.
