Director, Procurement, Power Tool Accessories - Lexington, SC

Are you a highly motivated Procurement professional ready to take on a new and exciting challenge? If so, come join our Global Procurement Organization (GPO) as Director, Procurement, Power Tool Accessories

You will manage the fast-growing Global Power Tool Accessories category and will be responsible fordeveloping a strategic plan to support the organizations growth initiatives including leading new product development, supplier selection, supplier development, and ongoing supplier management. You will be responsible for ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to, especially those related to compliance and/or other recognized legal and ethical practices related to global sourcing. In addition, you will support efforts to improve working capital performance through improved payment terms, productivity improvements and cost savings initiatives.

You will report to our VP, Global Procurement and will work closely with other members of our Global Procurement organization to support Corporate strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development, implementation, and communication of our corporate-wide Global Procurement Strategy, specifically the Procurement strategy for the Power Tool Accessories category
  • Own supplier partnerships and supplier relationship management for the specified segment, including the management of policies and procedures
  • Establish key performance indicators and performance standards for category and suppliers; monitor the performance of all suppliers on an ongoing basis to ensure sustained success
  • Identify and implement key changes to the global supply chain that result in operations improvement
  • Conduct market analysis to assess environmental conditions to determine a "buy best" approach evaluating value beyond price (e.g. Innovation, Growth, Life-Cycle Costs, Working Capital, and Capex) while ensuring material continuity and minimizing supply risk management objectives
  • Deliver year-over-year cost savings (5 to 8%) while creating an environment that demands and expects sustainable results
  • Work with key business leaders to ensure the Procurement strategy aligns with the overall strategic plan
  • Lead negotiation strategy development, as well as conduct negotiations for newly created partnerships and for existing partnerships as agreements expire; oversee RFI and RFP processes
  • Oversee supplier qualification and certification programs
  • Develop and lead a global team of procurement professionals

Critical Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Business, Supply Chain or a related field
  • 10+ years' experience sourcing, power tool accessories experience a plus
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of supplier market and category spend
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Strategic Planning, Sourcing Strategy Formulation and Implementation, Supplier Analysis and Negotiation
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills and abilities; high integrity
  • Skilled in negotiation strategies and tactics to achieve desired outcomes; ability and capacity to develop and plan tailored strategies based on respective category
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams, and individuals across multiple cultures, disciplines and geographies
  • Ability to act as a change agent influencing others to buy-in to improvement strategies
  • Excellent analytic skills using Supply Chain, Procurement software and Excel; SAP preferred
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Ability to effectively problem solve
  • Able to travel internationally as well as domestically
