Deputy VTC Manager


Primary Responsibilities:

This position will serve as Deputy VTC Manager and provide immediate and complete backup to the VTC Manager. The

Deputy Manager overseas the VTC team and is responsible for providing tier 3 support for development and

coordination of meetings/events and video conferencing infrastructure. He/she supports strategic business relationships

of DHA staff, vendors, suppliers and internal and external business partners and collaborates with key DHA stakeholders

to meet goals and achieve DHA Operations strategic objectives. He/she will interact regularly with each supported team,

to assure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.

The Deputy Manager is expected to demonstrate high level of technical expertise in endpoint configurations for VTC’s

and conferencing or AV periphery. Additionally, he/she is expected to demonstrate professional behavior consistent

with IntelliDyne values in all interactions. This position will require a moderate degree of innovation and

conceptualization of moving the domain forward in terms of its IT agility, value and alignment with the business goals

and the architectural standards established by management.

The Deputy Manager communicates with vendors and suppliers to resolve conferencing issues and support

implementation of new technologies. This role requires the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple and sometimes

conflicting project activities and deliverables, as well as the ability to effectively manage expectations.

  • Support video conferencing solutions for the connectivity of all DHA remote offices, technology centers and facilities
  • Perform configuration, maintenance, availability and performance activities and assessments and wireless infrastructure (including VPN)
  • Document all mobility and conferencing solutions and migrate solutions from development and testing to production
  • Provide technical guidance and assist customers in formulating solutions for their mobility and conferencing needs
  • Perform operating system backups and restores conferencing system
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments and provide recommendations to IT Operations management on technologies and issues to build better solutions that support and drive business decisions
  • Serve as mentor for new and more junior staff members
  • Assist in creating training plans, standard operation procedures, diagrams, and documentation as needed
  • Assist with performance reviews
  • Support ITIL and CMMI efforts
  • Process customer orders, prepare correspondence, and fulfill customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support
  • Document, track and monitor incidents and problems to ensure a timely resolution
  • Coordinate and consult with Customer, Engineering, Deskside Manager, vendors and team members to meet customer requirements
  • Advise management of potential risks that may have impact on customer base and operating environment
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments and provide recommendations to IT Operations management on technologies and issues to build better solutions that support and drive business decisions


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 5-10+ years related experience
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 6 months
  • Knowledge of WAN and LAN architectures, MPLS, ATM, OC3, T1, E1, DS3, E3
  • Working knowledge of utilization of AMX or Crestron control panel
  • Must possess good hardware, network operating systems and troubleshooting skills
  • Must possess strong understanding of network and system integration principle
  • Familiar with Cisco IOS for switches and routers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
  • Experience with contract or team management
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

  • Must have a fully adjudicated Public Trust at a T3 level at minimum, but a fully adjudicated Secret clearance is strongly preferred
