Job/Internship Description

The Tractor-Planter Innovation Intern will work with system and methods for electromechanical control of row unit subsystems, electromechanical controls of planter toolbar subsystem, and tractor-planter power management benchmarking.

  • Supporting prototyping and integration activities related to Planter and Tractor Innovation Engineering with significant lab time 
  • Intern will be expected to manage a personal research project consisting of development of a prototype control system on fulls-size agricultural equipment, and with final report to be presented to the team at the end of the summer
  • Pursuing a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Software or Agricultural Engineering
  • Must have reliable transportation to get you to and from the facility

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master Degree seeking student
  • CAD model design, control systems, CAN communication, software development (Python and C++), data acquisition systems experience
  • Certified to operate heavy equipment, hydraulic power systems, electromechanical actuator control method 
  • Involed in IEE student organization, SAE student organization, ASABE student organization, or other related student group a plus
