National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) has an opening for a Senior Program Manager in Washington, DC.
Job Duties: Analytical and metrics-based reporting to other staff, executive committee, and stakeholders. Develop, manage, and provide oversight to the packetized and managed services. Provide leadership for the success of the overall program and teams. Deliver projects using various methodologies such as waterfall, Agile etc. Leverage Microsoft project, SharePoint, Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence. Deliver revenue-generating enterprise level complex eCommerce systems. Liaise with business and other IT stakeholders to deliver technology solutions for highly visible sales and marketing programs and projects. Drive the process development, manage risks, impacts, and issues. Manage portfolio roadmap, budget, external vendor contracts, resources, and schedules. Manage and deliver multi-million dollars programs and matrixed teams. Communicate program objectives, status, change management, risks and alternatives with senior stakeholders, leadership and executives. Develop, manage, and provide oversight to the fixed price and managed services. Manage external vendors, contracts, provide leadership for the success of the overall program and teams. Hire and mentor junior level Project Management staff and matrixed team members, and provide guidance on adherence to the Project Management practices. Report on program's financial performance and forecasting details to senior executives and government regulators.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related technical field, followed by 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or 7 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a related occupation. Position requires experience with each of the following special skills 1) Visio; 2) MS Project; 3) Waterfall; 4) Agile; 5) SharePoint; 6) Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence; 7) Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, MS SharePoint); 8) Microfocus; 9) Business Case Development; 10) Database (SQL, Oracle, DB2). 25% of travel may be required to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.
