Description:
 
The Cyber Security Specialist III is responsible for coordinating and implementing the technical controls and configuration settings that have been selected for complete systems. They mentor Junior Specialists, verify control implementation and provide RMF artifacts to Cyber Security Specialists.
 
Responsibilities: 
  1. Mentor Cyber Security Specialist I and Cyber Security Specialist II on tasks for continuous development.
  2. Participate in development and review of System Security Documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), CS policies, Personnel Security, Disaster Recovery, Incident Responses, Authentication Management plan.
  3. Participate in systems analysis, systems development, and information technology program management. 
  4. Participate in the preparation of project briefings and reports.
  5. Review and analyze existing systems, identify and understand technical requirements as part of strategic development, implementation, and support for CS practices.
  6. Develop detailed and thorough site survey report documentation.
  7. Help create Cyber Security documentation for the lifecycle of Information Technology / Operational Technology Systems.
  8. Contribute to research and analysis and translate security policy and requirements to define best methods and practices.
  9. Provide technical guidance on implementation of security mechanisms and controls.
  10. Assist in device configuration of Windows Operating Systems, Applications, and Cisco IOS devices to comply with DISA STIG (and other) guidance
  11. Complete and Verify device configuration of Operating Systems, Applications, and Network devices to comply with DISA STIG (and other) guidance
  12. Spend time each week staying current on industry trends and available CS doctrine as workload allows.
  13. Identify industry accepted technical security standards and the policies that drive compliance requirements
  14. Support senior team members in developing, maintaining, and improving secure systems
  15. Apply system Operating System patches, Service Packs, Hotfixes, and software/ firmware updates
  16. Establish and support automated system software update methodologies and technologies
  17. Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) settings
  18. Perform system vulnerability scans including Nessus / ACAS, and SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC)
Requirements include:
 
  1. Certifications:
    1. Must have at least one certification in CASP CE, CISA, GCED, or GCIH
    2. Must have MCSP
  2. Education:
    1. High School with 11-12 Years of Experience 
    2. Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity with 8-10 Years of Experience 
    3. Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity with 5-7 Years of Experience 
    4. Master's Degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, Cybersecurity with 3-5 Years of Experience
  3. Must be willing to travel
