Located at our Montgomery, MD facility, we seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for the operation/maintenance of the residue equipment, smooth, safe efficient operation of overhead refuse cranes, and general housekeeping issues associated with the equipment and site. Individual will assist the other operators during plant upset or any non-typical conditions as they arise during shift. Duties include safe and efficient operation of the assigned equipment in accordance with established plant operating procedures.

Managing, stacking and monitoring refuse in the pit and ensuring the continuous availability of fuel in the furnace charging hoppers, performing daily crane preventative maintenance and checks. Conduct proper refuse pit management according to directives and best practices. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe work area. Performs other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor and keeps the Shift Supervisor informed of all activities.


Position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent. General mechanical aptitude with ability and dexterity necessary to use hand and power tools associated with operation maintenance. Basic understanding and experience in operating heavy equipment. Individual will be required to complete the necessary training in order for him/her to operate the refuse crane and stand in for the Auxiliary Operator. Complies with all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
