Essential Job Functions

To qualify for this position an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

  4. Industrial electrical hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110V, 24V and 12V motor control systems
  5. Experience working with Hard-Wired Motor Control Centers, Combination Starters, Start-Stop Stations, Estop Circuits
  6. Experience working with Electrical Distribution systems and wiring up to 480V.
  7. Ability to install conduit, wireways, pull wiring/cables and terminating cables.
  8. Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and control wiring diagrams.
  9. Ability to safely work aloft (heights over 20') including ladders, man lifts, harnesses, equipment tops and scaffolding.
  10. Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
  11. Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office & Excel.
  12. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.

Educations/Experience

 

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. 5 years' experience in Industrial Manufacturing Facilities
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of Motor Control Systems
  4. Technical School Electrical or Electronic School training certification preferred

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  1. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs on a frequent basis and be able to work while standing on a continuous basis.
  2. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to write, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
  3. Utilize a variety of tools such as: hand tools, power tools and electrical/electronic test equipment.
  4. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  5. Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)
  6. Environmental inside/outside conditions may include, hot/cold temperatures, noise, airborne particles, fumes/odors, vibration and exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Abilities

  1. Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  2. Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  3. Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  4. Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  5. May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  6. Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.  It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  7. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  8. Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  9. See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
  10. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
