PURPOSE:    Exhibits technical insight and understanding in multiple fields and disciplines with an in depth facility in one nationally recognized area. Complexity is state of the art. Type of work is new to MC Dean and may be new to the industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinates electrical engineering work plan and its implementation
  2. Participates in proposal efforts and budget preparation for proposal work and in preparation of project implementation procedures
  3. Participates in preparation of project schedule and project interface schedule
  4. Participates in detailing/clarifying engineering scope and all deliverables in accordance with prime contract
  5. Implements engineering related prime contract obligations
  6. Coordinates engineering work package to construction
  7. Reviews contract scope and deliverables with construction
  8. Coordinates related activities with other departments e.g. procurement, construction and project controls
  9. Coordinates with engineering management on complex multi discipline/contractor technical issues
  10. Releases engineering deliverables to other applicable departments for implementation
  11. Manages formal studies and technical briefing with customer, contractors, suppliers and other departments/parties
  12. Reviews technical issues with customer
  13. Manages changes to reduce impact on cost and schedule
  14. Captures lessons learned for future reference
  15. Participates and manages field rework during construction and pre operational phase of the project
  16. Performs highly complex electrical activities

 

Education and Experience

  1. 10 + years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years of experience with a Master's degree. 

 Abilities:

  1. Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  2. Sitting for extended periods of time.
  3. Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  4. Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
  5. Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  6. Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  7. Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  8. Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  9. Identify and understand the speech of another person.

Preferred but not required:

 

  1. Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  2. Certified in Power Quality (CPQ)
  3. Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)
  4.  Lighting Certified (LC)
  5. Certified Lighting & Efficiency Professional (CLEP)
  6. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  7. Project Management Professional (PMP)
  8. National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET)
  9. Design Build Institute of America  (DBIA)
