Responsibilities

  1. Design of Fire Alarm & Detection, Supervising Station and Mass Notification Systems
  2. Build and lead a team of engineers and designers for Fire Alarm projects.  Manage engineering resource availability, assigning project engineering teams ensure timely execution of milestones with a continued emphasis on quality.
  3. Maintain design standards and process for Life Safety Group.
  4. Consult with architects, engineers and other clients on Building/Fire Code & Standards including negotiating with Fire Marshals and Building Officials

Education / Technical & Experience

  1. B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering;
  2. Registered P. E. in Fire Protection Engineering;
  3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and review of Fire Protection Systems with emphasis on  of fire alarm systems in mission critical facilities, healthcare, infrastructure and manufacturing;
  4. Experience in developing plans and specifications for a wide variety of Fire Alarm and Suppression Systems (Including Special Suppression Systems)
  5. Experience managing a team directly, performing code reviews, scheduling work load, supervising , mentoring team, review designs and deliverables and hiring new team members 
  6. Intimate knowledge of  NFPA and building codes; experience with working with plan reviewers & AHJs
  7. General life safety design knowledge along with programming and commissioning of FA systems; experience with Notifier & VESDA is a plus.
  8. Fluent in ACAD / Revit or other design tools;
  9. Performs complete system layout in accordance with code, battery calculations and develop sequence of operations / scripts for complete FA systems; and
  10. Prior hands on field experience is a plus.
