Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an Ultrasonic Level II Inspector to perform inspections using advanced NDI technology.
The Inspector will develop, conduct and/or improve non-destructive inspections or techniques.
Set up, standardize, and maintain test equipment.
Perform specific non-destructive inspections as identified in component travelers.
Interpret and evaluate inspection results for acceptance or rejection per customer and internal requirements.
Document all inspection results as required by the contract, generating applicable documentation and reporting for all non-conforming product.
Maintain control and traceability of parts during inspection and transport.
Collaborate with the Corporate Level III to develop new inspection techniques or methods.
Provide support to engineering and production requests.
Assist in other areas of the Quality Assurance department and perform other duties as directed by management.
High School Diploma or GED.
One year of direct NDI level II experience.
800 hours of on-the-job training and 80 hours documented classroom training.
Must be a U.S. Person.
Previous Level II certification in Ultrasonic Inspection, NAS-410 or ASNT.
Understanding of inherent and non-inherent discontinuities associated with materials under evaluation.
Familiarization in the use of general inspection and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, protractor, etc.).
Able to read and interpret company procedures, customer specifications, and blueprints, experience in 3D modeling.
Strong Math skills, knowledge of basic ultrasonic mathematical equations, and Trigonometry and Geometric area equations.
Familiarization with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point).
Familiarization with automated multi axis inspection equipment.
NDI certifications in Liquid Penetrant and Visual inspection.
Basic understanding of aerospace NDI.
Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and follow specific instruction.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must be able to work any shift.
Willingness to travel up to 10% to help ensure the success of other company facilities and for continuing education needs.
