The Mount Horeb Area School District, located just 15 minutes west of Madison, Wisconsin, is accepting applications for bus drivers. We are seeking morning, noon, and afternoon drivers. Though each route is going to be slightly different, a morning route usually has a start time ranging between 6:15 - 7:00 and an end time around 8:10. An afternoon route would usually have a start time between 2:45 - 3:00 and an end time between 4:10 - 4:45.
Opportunities may be available for transporting to/from events.

The starting bus driver's pay is $25.91/route (approximately 1-1.5 hours per route). Pay can be adjusted based upon experience. PLUS $500-$1,000 stipend depending on hours worked.

High school diploma or equivalent
Holds (or willing to be trained at District expense) a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include, but are not limited to:
*Must be able to make sound and immediate decisions at any given time based on traffic and road conditions and bus operations;
*Pick up/deliver passengers safely per daily schedule and dispatch ride assignments which could vary;
*Operate bus in safe manner and follow driver policies/procedures manual;
*Understand and follow Wisconsin DOT, District, Agency, and Program laws/requirements/guidelines;
*Immediately inform supervisor of identified or suspected mechanical problems;
*Complete pre and post trip bus inspections/reports during scheduled hours;
*Inform passengers of transportation program policy, procedures, and schedule;
*Provide positive public relations by maintaining a clean bus and maintaining an appropriate appearance;
*Treat and assist passengers/families in a courteous, positive, friendly and professional manner
and confront situations tactfully;
*Keep an updated CDL with current DOT physical card and maintain a safe driving record;
*Other duties as may be assigned.
