Located in Springfield, VA.
This position is responsible for the design and development of electro-mechanical equipment. Potential hire will be working directly with the design team and manufacturing vendor. Candidate will design, troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve challenges related to product development. This includes root cause analysis, working with suppliers and in-house support personnel, and design improvements from cradle to production. Candidate will also be responsible for maintaining, updating drawings and Bills of Material and offer test support.
Design systems and integrate the multiple systems using Solidworks and CAD- Creo from initial concept stage through production launch.
Analyze the feasibility of design and occasionally run the Creo tool to do the FEA analysis.
Generate and analyze drawings from parts/assemblies IAW ASME 14.1 and MIL- STD-31000.
Assist in production problem solving as it relates to design engineering issues.
Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), problem solving, technical documentation/communication.
Education: 4-year Mechanical Engineering degree with 2-5 years of hands on experience. OR
Education: 2-year technical college degree/military experience with 5-10 years of mechanical and design/drawing experience.
Solidworks and 2D CAD and mechanical design experience are mandatory for this position everything else is negotiable.
