Job Description

This position supports an intelligence community customer storage site with a staff of between 20 - 30 made up of both government employees and contractors. The site receives equipment from contractors, conducts test and inspection activities on new equipment, on equipment being prepared for issue and on equipment returned after use. Other technical staff build equipment components that support unique equipment configuration requirements.


Expert in forming and finishing wood to meet customer requirements for type of material, shape, size, color, grain and finish/sheen, etc. Capable of creating physical objects from pictures and/or drawings with dimensions, or from exemplars, with specific additional characteristics/requirements described by the customer or associated with the customer's specific requirements. Also capable of creating a design for the customer's approval and turning that design into a finished physical object.


Recommends specific material and forming methodology to be used to meet customer requirements, including selection of appropriate adhesives and joining techniques.


Capable of doing the forming and finishing work for most or all requirements using various techniques and equipment. Advises customer on additional equipment/materials required to meet single or emerging requirements.


Must have a wide familiarity and relationships with local firms who can accomplish unusual tasks with equipment, processes or skills not available at the customer site when the customer allows specific work to be accomplished outside their facilities.



Requirements:


  • Associates Degree in technology to support this work required, or equivalent formal training.


  • Must have 10-15 years' experience across all the tasks required for this position- forming, finishing


  • TS Clearance with current or recent access to SCI and FS polygraph is required.
