Job Description

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position for an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Acquisition and Integration Analyst. The job location is at Fort Campbell, KY in support of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR).

Scope of Performance: Provide subject matter expertise of U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command (USASOAC) fielded and future UAS. This includes any unique modifications in support of SOF requirements. Contractor must be knowledgeable of the systems and component level operation, UAS operators/maintainers functions, and operational employment of the systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct required capability analysis, including assessment of current and projected capabilities, and validates material solutions to the highest degree of system definition.
  • Operational characteristic definition by describing system capabilities and operational environments that may impact user requirements.
  • Conduct system integration by evaluating compatibility and interoperability to ensure required capabilities are satisfied.
  • Participate in and conduct system and sub-system testing in support of integration and material solution development.
  • Logistics and sustainment analysis, ensuring support considerations are an integral part of the system's design requirements, that the system can be cost-effectively supported throughout its life cycle, and the infrastructure elements necessary for the initial fielding and operational support of the system are identified, developed and acquired.
  • Analyze systems that no longer meet operational needs or can be substantially improved in capability.
  • Able to be trained on and conduct comprehensive evaluations of emerging UAS and associate technology.
  • Stay up to date on most current National and International UAS initiatives and projects that may affect SOF UAS operations, training, and development.
  • As an AO, perform developmental and user acceptance flight tests for hardware and software systems and subsystems.
  • Perform routine clerical, administrative, and logistics tasks as required in support of the UAS Systems Integration Management Office (SIMO).

Education and Experience-Required

  • Qualified or previously qualified as a Group 4, Medium Altitude Endurance (MAE: MQ-1, MQ-1C, or MQ-9) UAS Aircraft Operator (AO).
  • Operational experience as UAS Instructor Operator (IO).
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience as UAS AO/SO.
  • Group 1 through Group 4 UAS experience/qualification.
  • Possess a Secret or Interim Secret security clearance.
  • Qualified or previously qualified as Instructor Operator/Standardization Operator (IO/SO) on Group 4, MAE UAS.

Experience-Desired

  • Possess an FAA Pilot Certificate: ATP, Commercial or Private Pilot; Airplane, Multiengine Land, or Single-Engine Land.
  • Operational experience as an UAS Instructor Operator.
  • FAA Flight Instructor certificate, Instrument - Airplane or Instrument - Helicopter
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
