Primary Purpose

We are seeking an Associate Vice President to execute a Data Science and AI strategy and development roadmap to transform how clinical data is collected, monitored, reviewed, analyzed and submitted for regulatory approval through new technologies and products. The data science and AI features, products and functionality will be embedded into our Advantage eClinical Technology Platform or be offered as stand-alone services. This role will work closely with the executive team, internal functions and customers to deliver creative and market-leading solutions for the clinical development.


Responsibilities

  • Partners and builds strong cross functional relationships with leadership teams across the organization to build and strengthen a data-inspired culture to bring innovative technologies to create differentiating products for our customers.
  • Inspires, leads and grows a team of data scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and researchers.
  • Builds departmental operating processes and structure including team operating rhythm and people skill development, frameworks, models etc.
  • Builds strong cross functional relationships in order to strengthen data culture and analytics team integration into key product and Go to Market processes.
  • Performs all duties in keeping with the Company's core values, policies and all applicable regulations.
  • Provides leadership and support to direct reports and in a matrixed organization.
  • Develops, encourages, and provides professional development.
  • Handles discipline as needed and in accordance with company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in leadership roles in Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Clinical, Technology and/or Software Engineering industry.
  • Advanced degree in related field (Ph.D./M.D.) required.
  • Subject matter expert in the latest data science, generative AI/LLM and other AI techniques, methods and solutions.
  • Experience in effectively scaling data science teams and bringing innovative solutions to production.
  • Expertise in clinical trial operations, data management, trial design and R&D process.
  • Proven leader with strong track record in the pharmaceutical, clinical and technology industry.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a reputation for critical thinking and strategic thinking.
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical research methodology and regulatory requirements as they relate to trial design and analysis.
  • Exceptional communication and management skills.
  • Strong customer orientation with outstanding consultative and solutioning skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive and diverse culture.
  • Highly adaptable to change; able to easily navigate between high-level strategy and hands on execution.
  • Ability to drive change in the organization and challenge current norms by innovating.
