UFCW is seeking an experienced Research Coordinator with 10 or more years of progressive activism experience required with a preference for 10 or more years’ experience in labor or work center research and/or campaigning, to create and lead research in support of union campaigns. BA or related advanced degree is preferred. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Travel is required sometimes at the last minute. Some irregular or unpredictable hours are also required. Valid drivers license is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as team lead for department staff with a particular focus on identification of strategic large-scale organizing opportunities.
In consultation with the Director or Assistant Director, coordinates the research work of staff, including setting research priorities in light of the needs of the union.
Coordinates local and field research in support of union campaigns and is lead trainer for research staff at the International and Local Unions.
Performs advanced qualitative analysis for use in campaigns and collective bargaining. Independently assess the validity of outside analyses.
Demonstrates initiative. Organize time efficiently and work accurately under exacting deadlines.
Prepares written and delivers oral complex reports in various formats. Interfaces professionally and socially with financial and industry advisors, consultants, and experts.
Demonstrated ability to conduct and incorporate company research and power analysis in support of union and/or worker center campaigns.
